Bellamy Young was born in Asheville in North Carolina on 19 February 1970. She played First Lady Mellie in ABC's Scandal. She also had a recurring character in the role of Beth Clemmons on CBS's Criminal Minds. She also worked as a writer, and producer. She collaborated alongside writer-producer Shonda Rhimes on Private Practice and Scandal. The two shows were both Private Practice and Scandal. The actress graduated in 1987 from Asheville High School. The year 1991 was the time she was a graduate of Yale University with a degree in English and Theater, after majoring in Physics in the beginning. Young had a short summer break during her time at the British American Drama Academy in England. Young is a vegan, and is from 1988.
