Pom's parents selected the name due to the similarity of pronunciation to the Korean term for "spring" also known as "tiger". The Klementieff family lived for a time living in Canada. After that, due to the job of her dad and her brother, they travelled a lot. After that, before settling down in France the family travelled to Japan and Ivory Coast.
