Cassandra Monique Batie, professionally known as Andra day is an American R&B musician and singer. Apart from a Grammy Award and Golden Globe Award she has also been nominated as an Academy Award. Andra day is an incredibly talented and powerful artist. She's not a throwback R&B specialist, however her background in gospel jazz as well as the blues are evident and is a perfect fit for today's music. The single "Rise Up" became a global anthem for social justice campaigns. Day received two Grammy nominations, including Best R&B Album. The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a concept-album about the legendary jazz singer's life, was released in the year 2019. That same year she starred in a biopic on Holiday's story, The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021). Andi Mathichak was born in the US. She first appeared in television shows like 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods before making her film debut with Allyson Nelson, in the horror movie series Halloween and its sequels.
